Innovation Drives Personal Travel Experiences

Handwritten notes and a bottle of water are important parts of a hotel welcome. However, technology allows hotels to understand their guests better and personalize the travel experience more than ever.

In fact, connected travelers expect touchpoints that are relevant to their travel. Through innovation, customers can choose their adventure based on options they care about, with the ability to do it seamlessly and efficiently.

Convenience

Hilton has revolutionized the check-in experience with the Hilton Honors App. Hilton Honors members can use the app to check-in, skip the Front Desk line and unlock your hotel room door - all from your phone.

Recently, Hilton also introduced a revolutionary new guest room, Five Feet to Fitness, an in-room concept that allows travelers to pursue fitness and wellbeing on their terms. With Five Feet of Fitness, you can work out in the privacy of your room with over 11 different fitness equipment and accessory options, from a Wattbike to medicine balls, yoga and more!

Control

Hilton has expanded the industry-first Digital Key Technology and its room selection features to more than 3,000 hotels worldwide. We also unveiled the Connected Room, a first-of-its-kind, high-tech room that enables guests to personalize and control every aspect of their stay from the Hilton Honors app, including lights, a/c, and the television. Connected Room will scale rapidly to hotels across the United States in 2018.

Flexibility

The Hilton Honors program is geared towards giving travelers more of what matters. “Frequent travelers told us they want more flexibility while less frequent travelers want to be able to use their Points in more ways and more quickly," said Mark Weinstein, senior vice president, and global head, customer engagement, loyalty, and partnerships.

  • Points & Money: Hilton Honors is the only guest loyalty program where members can redeem their Points for an award night or a stay, using a flexible combination of points and money. Members can use the new Hilton Honors Points & Money slider to select how many Points they want to redeem toward a room. This means members will now be able to use their Points faster for hotel stays, any time, with no blackout dates.
  • Points Pooling: Hilton Honors members will be able to combine - or "pool" - their Points with up to ten friends or family members for free. A total of 11 members can pool their Points for stays in great locations for any event that brings people together.
  • Shop with Points on Amazon.com: Hilton Honors members will be able to use their Points to purchase products on Amazon.com.
  • Diamond Status Extension: Eligible Diamond members may receive a one-time, one-year extension of their status - for any reason. No other hospitality industry program offers this level of flexibility.

Innovation Gallery - Hilton

Our customer’s desire for control, convenience and flexibility are driving innovation at Hilton. We recently opened the Innovation Gallery as an incubator and experiential showcase for cutting-edge product developments that will shape the future of hospitality. Located next to the corporate headquarters in McLean, VA, the Innovation Gallery is a physical space where conversations between thought leaders, design experts, and hospitality professionals deliver new products and solutions for Hilton's guests.

Hilton recognizes that as travel technology continues to evolve, companies that focus on relevant customer touchpoints will succeed in producing unique and memorable experiences for their travelers. Join us in changing the future of hospitality!
